Properly designing a new call center is a very important task

Properly designing a new call center is a very daunting and important task for any company or department. There are many things to take into consideration when you do this. Not only for the company and management but for the call center representatives who will soon fill your call center. You want your employees to be happy so that they can do their job better and if they are happy, then you will have more customer satisfaction.

Unfortunately many companies take some aspects into consideration and not some more that are not as up front but in the end can be major setbacks. You can always hire an organization to help you with this daunting task, in fact I would highly recommend you to do this if you have not designed a call center before.

When you are properly designing a new call center you should make a list of some of the more important things you will need to consider. Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning should be at the top of the list. Perhaps considering a white noise filter would be a good thing to look into. They are placed in the ceiling and create a white noise which helps block out the sounds around you such as other representatives on the phone, people walking by, the hum of computers and whatnot.

Work space is another major decision. There are advocates for cubicles and then there are those who hate them. This is something you need to look into. There are half wall cubicles, floor to ceiling cubicles or you could go with individual offices. Individual offices are expensive and not practical. However the next best thing is movable floor to ceiling walls that can be transported and rearranged to suit your needs. I would never recommend half wall cubicles.

Be sure to have a short term plan as well as a long term plan in hand. There are those when designing new call centers that only think of the needs they have at the moment. But to properly design a new call center, you need to have a long term plan in hand for expansion and growth. If you do not, then you may find yourself in the near future having to plan all over again and even possibly looking for a new location, which is a waste of money and time.

So if you are preparing to design a new call center, sit down with all those that are involved and plan, plan and plan some more. So that you can properly design your new call center so that it runs efficiently and is cost effective.
